Welcome to the Save Leuchie Campaign website
Leuchie House in Scotland offers respite and holiday care for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), in particular to those most severely affected by the condition. It is run and funded by the MS Society.
A magnificent Georgian building set in rural East Lothian, it is a lovely and welcoming place. The dedication of the staff and the standard of service are exceptional. There is no other place in Scotland like Leuchie.
On 10 June 2010 the MS Society announced to withdraw its funding by November this year.
Our Position
- We strongly disagree with the MS Society’s decision to withdraw its funding of Leuchie, effectively closing it.
- We question the validity of the survey on which this decision is based.
- We ask the MS Society to reverse the decision and to secure the future of Leuchie House.
“If Leuchie closes this is the last holiday that Peter and I will have together.”
Carol, wife of Peter Bull on 22 June 2010 at Leuchie House.
